Ms. Sambula's English I Website

About Me!
I was born in NYC, and have lived in Jersey for many years.  This is my 9th year at UACHS, and I have enjoyed every moment.  My students are everything to me!

If I try to explain where my teaching philosophy comes from, my personal experience has shaped my teaching philosophy. In other words, my life’s canvas serves as the background for the painting I want my students to see. Yes, some colors are bright and illuminating, but some are dark or dispiriting. Therefore, I cannot say that my teaching philosophy is one thing; it is more of a feeling instead of a message, which I want my students to be left with. I want my scholars to know that they can connect and trust me because I, just like them, have a story to tell.

About My Class!
English I is the foundation for high school English courses. I encourage critical analysis and problem-solving skills to be used in the daily practice of thinking, writing, and reading. Students will be reading a variety of literature, including, but not limited to, Romeo and Juliet, personal narratives, novels, and current articles. Also, a variety of technologies will be incorporated to maximize student interest and learning.
