Hello!

Welcome to my page! My name is Jarad Benn, and I’m thrilled to join the University Academy Charter High School family as the new teacher for English II, Professional Writing & Presentations, and Intro to Theater.

In English II, we’ll sharpen reading, writing, and analytical skills through engaging literature, thoughtful discussion, and real-world connections. Professional Writing & Presentations focuses on career-ready communication—students will craft résumés, practice public speaking, and develop polished presentations for school and future workplaces. In Intro to Theater, we’ll explore performance, playwriting, and stagecraft, building confidence and collaboration through creative projects.

I bring over a decade of experience as a theater educator and director, supported by two master’s degrees in the performing arts. My goal is to create a classroom that is challenging, supportive, and full of opportunities to grow. As Samuel Beckett reminds us: “Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.” I look forward to an inspiring year of learning, creativity, and partnership with students and families.  I primarily use Google Classroom for my class assignments and communication.  You may also find my class syllabi on the right of this page.
