Creative Writing (Period 1)
Course Description
Welcome to Creative Writing! In this course we will be learning about writing in its most creative form. We will be learning about and producing works of Fiction, Non-Fiction, Memoir, and Journalistic Writing. Our classroom will be held in both a formal setting and in a workshop style in order to cultivate the creative writing within each student. Students will be exposed to excerpts from a select group of creative writers, helpful articles, and a selection of short stories. Students are encouraged to participate in each class, as it is imperative that we build a community within our class. The more familiar the students become with one another’s writing, the more progressive our workshops will be.
