Mr. Rizzolo's overview of Music Classes this year at University Academy Charter High School.

hello everybody and welcome to music class my name is Mr risolo and I'm the school music teacher at University Academy College Prep Charter High School this class is going to make it present find the music teacher for all music classes music appreciation instrumental music and choir first thing to do in this slideshow is meet me the teacher and it's a little bit about myself we're going to go over the supply list that we can go over a virtual learning schedule what we're learning this year class conduct and behavior policies any parent forms you may need to access contact information for me and how to schedule a mini conference with me my name is Joe Rizzo on the music teacher at you Academy charter high school music since the age of fifteen when I began teaching drum lessons I'm a graduate of New Jersey City University where I received a percussion performance degree in music education education certification in 2000 my favorite part about teaching these classes is helping students to realize the joy of music and their own lives I am most excited to help music students learn about the rich musical history of America and World music educating them to compose produce their own music I spent this past summer researching tools that allow students to create music and without without instruments belts remotely and in person so far this year have been utilizing one of these tools soundtrap.com to complete assignments as we study the important elements of music things you may want to have for remote learning a laptop or desktop computer a tablet indoor smartphone having two of these devices is very helpful for when students are recording music and looking at it on one device and recording on a second device into soundtrap and online digital audio workstation similar to GarageBand that we are using so that they can see the music and access the soundtrack program at the same time another helpful item that students might be able to access if they had it is a midi keyboard and a USB cable to attach to a King and or you could use in a lightning cable and apple lightning to USB 3 cable to attach a midi keyboard to an iPhone or iPad if you have any questions about that please contact me I can definitely help you find those headphones or earbuds are essential especially for choir students because choir students are recording their voice a lot and we don't want to hear any of the Sounds in the background headphones make those background sounds go away instrumental students should have access to any instruments that would like to learn at home so that they can practice at home during this remote I'm currently instrumental students are using soundtrack to learn how to read music and perform music via their computer keyboards and or they're smart iPhone device this year were focusing primarily and instrumental class on keyboards and percussion as we're not doing many things with wind instruments do to the pandemic my class schedule I have on a day's music appreciation 3A from 10:15 a.m. to 11:10 a.m. and instrumental music for a from 11:15 to 12:10 p.m. I'm BJ's at music appreciation Friday from 8 a.m. to 8:55 a.m. 6A 9 a.m. to 9:55 p.m. and music appreciation 7A 11 a.m. to 11 55 am all of these classes have mandatory Zoom meetings and students are expected to be in the zoom meeting at the start of class during the remote learning. This year in music appreciation students are focusing on the elements of music music genres music history and music production Susan choir focus on proper singing technique Ensemble practice and performance techniques currently students are working on controlling their breath and seeing long and accurate notes while matching pitch instrumental students will focus on performing music on keyboards and percussion instrument instrumental students are also learning to read music and perform music samples contact in PA for my class number one students must follow the Golden Rule treat others that you would like to be treated number 2 Spectre to treat music classes seriously music students are expected to also follow school rules and always students are expected to try their best here is a form that all parents may want to access in regards to the hybrid learning which will start at 11:16 this will allow you to let the school know whether you want your students to participate in the hybrid learning in Orchard View remote starting at 11:16 contact me email me a j was low at UA chs.org I'm available for contact every school day until 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. on email responses will be within 24 to 48 hours after I received your email the schedule a mini conference you will have him join the remote assistance.
