Coach Jeff Papcun

Welcome! I am Coach Papcun, and this is my 3rd year at University Academy Charter High School (UACHS) and my 3rd year overall in education. This school year, I will be teaching Physical Education and Health, while also serving as In-Class Support for U.S. History I and working as a Co-Teacher for ELA I. These roles allow me to support students across multiple academic areas while helping create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Health from Montclair State University and a Master’s degree in Special Education from the American College of Education. My background in both physical education and special education has helped shape my approach to teaching, with a focus on meeting the individual needs of students and helping each student find success.

Before joining UACHS, I spent 14 years serving as the Superintendent of Parks and Recreation for Manalapan Township in Monmouth County, NJ. During that time, I also had the opportunity to coach varsity Football, Track, Baseball, and Basketball, further developing my passion for working with young people through education, athletics, and recreation.

In addition to my work in education and recreation, I currently run my own company, Jersey Coastal Academy, which focuses on bringing the FUN back in FUNdamentals to help young athletes in sports and recreation through inclusive, engaging, and skill-based programming.

I am excited for another great year at UACHS and look forward to working with our students and student-athletes. My goal is to help them grow academically, physically, socially, and emotionally while developing the skills and confidence needed to become well-rounded individuals prepared for success both in and out of the classroom.
