Welcome students, parents, and guardians to my University Academy Charter High School web page. My name is Ms. Jolly Samuel. This is my seventh-year teaching at University Academy Charter High School, and I am looking forward to sharing the school year with all of you. Prior to joining the staff at UACHS, I taught at University High School in Newark for one year. Before that, I taught Chemistry for 25 years in Sultanate of Oman and India. 

During the 2025/2026 school year, I am teaching one section of Honors Chemistry w/Lab and five sections of Chemistry w/Lab. I look forward to work with you to ensure the success of each student. 

I will use Schoology to post daily lessons and assignments as well as Pearson Realize for the textbook access and different activities. During the classes, students will receive instruction, practice work, and guidance from the teacher. 

Daily work includes:

• A Do-Now assignment as a preparation work for a new lesson.
• A PowerPoint presentation for a new lesson to read or a video to watch on Study.Com or YouTube.

• An assignment related to the new lesson, can be an online interactivity on Gizmos or a written assignment on Schoology.

• A closing assessment or homework on Schoology.

Daily work must be submitted on Schoology in order to be graded.

Missing assignment will reduce the overall average for the quarter. Don't fall behind, and remember your grade will be accounted for, among other criteria, by dated submissions.
