August Field Trips and Programs for UACHS Students

Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Spaces in each program are limited, but students may sign up for more than one program, as long as the dates do not conflict. All field trips will be chaperoned by UACHS faculty and staff, and will travel to/from via bus.

Course Description (History/Science): The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is to promote the awareness and understanding of history, science and service through its collections, exhibitions and programming in order to honor our heroes, educate the public and inspire our youth.

Course Description (Science/Health): Many children nowadays are not overly connected or engaged with the natural world around them. Visiting a zoo helps students understand the significance of taking care of the environment as it has an important impact on the lives and welfare of animals. Most zoos cover a vast amount of land which allows for ample exercise. Wide open spaces, including several hills, is perfect for getting the heart pumping.

Mathematics Chess

Course Description: Learning the connections between mathematics and chess. We will focus on making math and chess fun by preparing for competitions. Field trip to the NYC Chess Arena Washington Square Park i CANCELLED.

Course Description: People always talk about how hard the college application process is; however, it doesn’t have to be. Come get a head start on the process while visiting some schools in NJ.

Music Intensive

Course Description: The Summer Music intensive will include Small Ensemble Music performance of pop, rock, and hip-hop music with focus on instrument technique (drums, bass, guitar, keyboard, strings) musicality and reading music!
