UACHS stands in solidarity with our Asian-American and Pacific Islander students and their families—always but especially in opposition to the recent attacks on AAPI individuals and communities across the United States.
At the same time, we acknowledge that the trial of Derek Chauvin, the former police officer charged with causing the death of George Floyd, beginning this week is a source of trauma and pain for our community, even as it serves as part of the process of justice. Additionally, legislation passed in Arkansas this week compels us to affirm that we fully support all aspects of our students' identities and everything that makes them the amazing individuals that they are.
As we move toward a much-needed Spring Break, let us continue to care for and support each other. Please remember that we value every part of our UACHS Family, and we are here for you even while we are physically apart.
