Hello Students, Parents, and Colleagues,

My name is Mr. Andrew (Andy) Bott, and I am a fourth-year English teacher at UACHS (I'm the younger man in the welcome page photo!). I live in Bergen County and have a wonderful wife, Jessica. My mind is already on teaching Shakespeare this year, but I have many other literary interests as well: Black Literature, Women's Lit, the English Romantic Period, as well as Young Adult fiction. To go along with reading, I also enjoy writing, and I have self-published a book-length poem. Therefore, I am looking forward to teaching Creative Writing this year, in addition to Freshman and Sophomore English.  I am extremely excited to be a part of the UACHS family, and I look forward to a rich, rewarding school year.

Ms. Weaver, my co-teacher, and I have the following Classroom Policies:
We will be on time to class every day.
We will be prepared for class (bringing a pen, notebook and folder each day).
We will follow the school rules at all times.
We will respect each other at all times.
We will use the bathroom no more than once a week.

The Grading System is as follows:
Class Participation/Classwork: 30%
Homework: 20%
Projects and papers: 20%
Tests: 20%
Quizzes: 10%

Anyone who would like to contact me can email me at:

I believe communication with parents/guardians is vital in a student's success, so I encourage vivid interaction with not only students but parents/guardians and staff on a consistent basis. I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,
Mr. Bott
