My philosophy for learning is that each child is unique and each child learns in a different way. One of my jobs as a teacher is to help your child discover his or her individuality and work alongside them to maximize it. It is my goal to create a community of learners who are committed to working hard and having fun. As such, my classroom has three simple expectations: respect each other as well as me, come prepared for class always and of course, read! For my classroom, students are expected to have one classroom notebook (3 subject), a folder, a pen and the classroom novel – which I will always provide.
Please note that I have high expectations for all of my students and their success. I encourage you to demand the best from your child as well. Collaboration, cooperation and open communication between home and school are keys to building a strong foundation for a successful school year. Please feel free to contact me anytime. I can be reached through the main office at school 201-200-3200 or via e-mail (the best option)
DRainey-UACHS@njcu.edu. If you would like to talk in person, I am always available to schedule appointments at a convenient time for both of us. Additionally, please access your child's progress on our PowerSchool server: https://uachs.powerschool.com/public/
If you do not have access yet, please contact our front desk. Lastly, students can finish any unfinished assignments and access selected course documents on our Schoology site: www.uachs.schoology.com
Thank you in advance for your cooperation. I look forward to a successful school year!
